Senate Committees

Students lead in all aspects of the Students’ Union. A range of elections, committees and research projects make sure that student leadership and decision-making is at the heart of everything we do.

What are Senate Committees?

Committees are essential to the effective operation of the Union’s democracy. Committee members use their specialized knowledge to oversee the work and performance of Executive Officers, and for the areas of student life, they represent. Committees monitor on-going Executive Officer progress, identify issues that affect the student body, work to produce policy, campaigns and events and recommend courses of action to the Student Senate.

The roles and responsibilities of the Senate Committees can be found in the Union’s constitution which sets out how are democratic structures are carried out.
