Societies are one of the most exciting things available to you during your time at University, and with the largest number in the country here at Manchester, there’s something for everyone!
NEW SOCIETY APPLICATIONS OPEN
Between the 20th July 2020 and the 18th of August 2020, we are accepting applications from our students to form a new society for the 2020/21 academic year.
1. Search our Societies page to check whether a duplicate of your society already exists – if your application is too similar to another society, we’ll advise you to get involved with the existing society instead of setting up an additional group.
2. To register your society, you need to have a committee. A newly forming society requires at least three current University of Manchester students to form a committee. The roles of Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and Inclusion Officer must be filled in order to form a society. (note: the role of Inclusion Officer can be held in conjunction with another role).
3. Complete the application form linked below. All the guidance you should require can be found on the form. There is also a contact email for any queries you may have. Once submitted, one of the societies team will be in contact with you within two-weeks of your application to inform you of its status.
All applications are reviewed by the societies team. The team may contact you requesting further information regarding your proposed society. The Union will inform you whether your application to form a society has been accepted at the end of the application period.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We wish you the best of luck.
