Your Students’ Union has one of the largest student media teams in the UK - and we are always on the lookout for new talent. Our student media wing is called the Manchester Media Group, and it’s made up of our student newspaper The Mancunion, radio station Fuse FM, online video content producer Fuse TV, and our Women In Media Conference team. The Mancunion is the home of the curious student. We’re your weekly student newspaper, delivering you the latest campus news, culture reviews, and student opinion to your inbox, newsfeed, or in your hands.

We’re made up of around 40 editors, and we welcome contributions from any student at UoM, regardless of experience. Simply join the Mancunion Writers group on Facebook and attend your chosen section meeting!

Fuse FM is your cultural hub. Not just a 24/7 all-student radio station, we host all sorts of events – from comedy showcases to club DJ nights – as well as providing the platform for some great entertainment names like Matt Horne and Jack Whitehall to kick-start their careers.

We can put you on your path to radio stardom, from presenting to producing, we can train you in it all. Join the Fuse FM Presenters Facebook group to get started.
Fuse TV has everything you need to get into the TV world. We have dedicated team covering news, drunken debate, satirical comedy, and even cookery. We’ll train you in everything from shot positioning and lighting to how to go live for a live broadcast.

The Women In Media Conference is an annual event in March, organised and run by students from the University of Manchester to celebrate female talent in the media and empower new female voices into the industry.
