Hi everyone, I wanted to give you an update in relation to COVID-19 and the rapid testing that has been recently introduced.
I have been working with with the University to put in place the rapid testing for students recommended by the government in order for people to travel home before the Christmas break.
Students can now get tested twice within the university facilities before they go back home before Christmas.
You may have received an email from the university informing you about the rapid testing. It is very important you get tested before leaving the campus traveling home. This is to reduce the spread of Covid-19 in the community.
The tests may not be suitable for people planning international travel, those on NHS placements, or people with symptoms or who are already self-isolating. If you are planning international travel you must check the testing requirements of your destination country. You must not get tested using this method if you have symptoms of COVID-19.
Booking is now open; you can book your testing following your school booking dates. You must be tested twice 3 days from each other before your travel date.
Follow the recommended dates suggested by your schools, if you cannot meet these dates, you can book your testing in line with your travel arrangement. FAQs
The University is staggering the leaving dates for the students to ensure that you can travel safely through the COVID rapid testing programme. Book Online
