Opportunities
·  Be part of a thriving volunteer community
·  Make a long-lasting impact on members of local communities
·  Host and attend sector-leading events with staff and students from universities across the country
·  Support local charities and causes through awareness and fundraising
·  Make contacts and join networks within the charity sector
·  Make new friends
·  Travel abroad with Manchester RAG Challenges
·  Meet with university committees to consult on planned changes


Skills
·  Build leadership skills through supporting the teams of volunteers
·  Improve team-working as a committee working towards common goals
·  Practice networking skills with both internal university contacts and external charities and organisations
·  Gain financial skills, including monitoring budgets, gaining sponsorships and fundraising
·  Gain experience events planning, including small events for volunteers and large scale events for 100s of participants
·  Data handling and report writing
·  Influencing people at a higher level within the organisation


Support and training
·  All three groups are supported by staff with specialisms in their area
·  There are online and face to face training opportunities to gain and develop your skills
·  Training budgets are available for more specific external training
·  There are opportunities to attend national conferences to learn from others
·  All volunteer expenses are reimbursed
