This February, the NUS LGBT+ Campaign are looking to centre the experiences of groups often left out of mainstream depictions of LGBT+ history, including QTIPOC (queer, trans and intersex people of colour) and trans people under the theme “Pride is Political”. NUS LGBT+ Officer (open place) Rob Noon will be leading a panel discussion on the current political landscape of UK Pride events, providing an alternative vision for transforming Pride beyond a corporate party and into an accessible protest and political celebration. Rob will be joined by: Katie Foy (Disabled Students’ Officer at UoM SU, NUS LGBT+ Campaign), Natalia Ragnhild (University of Sheffield Students’ Union, NUS LGBT+ Campaign), and Chloe Cousins (The Proud Trust).
The event will take place in Room 2.5 of the Students' Union, which is located on the 2nd floor. This is a seated event.
The building has an access ramp and a lift. If you have any access requirements that you would like to communicate before the event please contact Virginie: virginie.assal@manchester.ac.uk
