Black Lives Matter Activism

Friday 30-10-2020 - 10:54

This summer saw waves of protests across the country in opposition to police brutality and racial discrimination towards Black people in America, the UK and around the world.

Despite the difficult circumstances, students gathered in huge numbers in public and online to show their support for the Black Lives Matter movement.

Since then, your exec team has worked with the university to listen to the concerns of staff and students and draw up a report containing more than 40 actions to address the attainment gap, staff discrimination and academic representation. Click here to check it out.

However, there always more we can all do to challenge racism within our university and wider community.

We wanted to share with you some campaigns which fight for racial justice within our university and the wider Manchester area, which you can get involved with.
