What are the Students' Union Awards?
University of Manchester is such a vibrant and dynamic campus and the Students’ Union Awards are our way of congratulating you for making it happen. We’ve got incredible reporting from our Student Media, five star performers, relentless activists, innovative fundraisers, selfless volunteers, super-supportive academics and amazing party planners and we want to thank you all! The Tuesday 8th May ceremony will focus on Teaching, Volunteering, Fundraising and Communities Awards and the Wednesday 9th May ceremony is for Media and Societies.
What should I wear?
The dress code for the evening will be formal-ish! We’re encouraging you all to dress up nice and smart, but please don’t feel like you have to come in black tie.
Where can I get tickets?
You can reserve tickets for the Teaching, Volunteering, Fundraising and Communities Awards ceremony here and the Media and Societies ceremony here. There are no physical tickets to print out and bring. Tickets are free!
What happens on the night?
Doors will open at 5.00pm. There will be a drinks reception, photo booth and some amazing entertainment. There will be no pre-arranged seating plan so arrive early and as a group to ensure you can sit with friends. Food will served from 5.00pm and the evening will begin at 6.00pm. There will be an interval at 6.45pm with the second half of the ceremony starting again at 7.00pm. The awards ceremony will be followed by an after party in Union Bar from 8.00pm.
Where can I let you know about my access requirements?
Manchester Academy is a fully accessible building and the food served will be vegan with a gluten free option. If you have any additional access needs or dietary requirements that you would like us to consider then please let us know when you reserve your ticket.

How are the awards chosen?
The awards are scored according to the criteria on the nomination form and then whittled down to our shortlist. They’re then anonymised and a winner is chosen by a group of student volunteers and SU staff. For more information on this get in touch with email@example.com
