The University of Manchester Students’ Union uses a significant amount of energy and water to deliver our services. Any type of energy and water use has an environmental impact so we need to make sure we use them in the most efficient and effective way.

Over the last 3 years we’ve almost halved our water usage for 6,031m³ in 2015 to 3,779m³ in 2018.  Whilst this is an amazing start, we are still trying to improve the efficiency of how we use water from using zip boilers (reducing energy as well as water), through to ensuring all the taps installed as part of our building project are ‘timed’ to provide just enough water.
