Safe Taxi Scheme

No money to get home? 

No problem! We've got an exclusive partnership with local private hire firm Street Cars which means that you can get home, even if you haven't got any money. All you need to do is take the following steps: 

  1. Call Street Cars on 0161 228 7878 or download the app and quote ‘Manchester SU Safe Taxi Scheme’ then give your full name and Student ID number

  2. Wait safely for your car, and check your car is from Street Cars before you get in

  3. Tell the driver your destination and give them your Student ID Card

  4. Ask for a receipt at the end of your journey

  5. After 12pm the following day, collect your student ID Card from the Students’ Union Helpdesk in exchange for the payment of your fare
