Mature Students

UCAS defines a mature student as anyone who is over the age of 21.

Manchester University Mature Students Society is a place where mature students can socialise and communicate. The society also aims to change the way in which the University acknowledges mature students. This year they're working on creating: regular socials, fun events, more tailored career support and a mature student peer-mentoring scheme.

Mature and graduate medical students at Manchester Medical School can also join OldSoc, a society which aims to provide social, educational and peer support opportunities.

Mature students can also join The Burlington Society, a social society for over 21s at universities in Greater Manchester. Members are postgrads, mature students, postdocs and research assistants, and even a few university alumni!
