Achievements Since Our Last Strategic Plan (2013-2016) 

Some of our achievements since the last plan in 2013:

• In 2015, we broke the UK record for the number of students voting in an SU election with an amazing 13,264 voting.
• We won an award for improving our staff satisfaction with working at the union - from 50% to 86%
• In 2016, over 3,500 students marched to ‘Reclaim the Night’
• The student satisfaction with the Union has risen faster than almost any other Union in the UK
• We have grown the number of students who are a member of at least one society to over 15,000 a year
• We have gained commitment to fund a £10million extension to the Union building
• In the last 3 years, our Advice Service has supported almost 9,000 students during difficult times in their lives
• We have welcomed over 900,000 members of the public through the doors of our Academy Venues
• Every year, over 2,500 students undertake over 20,000 hours of voluntary work in the local community
• Since 2014, our RAG team have raised almost £1million for local and national causes
• We have worked in partnership with the University to transform the welcome for new students
