Why did you get involved with the SU?

I felt I could help in using the SU as a platform to encourage integration and inclusion, influence university-wide decisions with students’ voices, enhance students’ educational experience, and increase students’ employability.

If you could achieve one thing in your year as an Officer, what would it be?

I would like to establish the “UMSU Project Lab”. In an era where big firms like Google, PwC, KPMG, EY etc. are ditching degree classification during recruitment, gaining experience has become essential for graduates. The UMSU Project Lab would provide students with practical work experience before graduation; it would give them the opportunity to work on real-life projects with firms across the globe.

Who’s your icon?

Kwame Nkrumah. He was the first Prime Minister of Ghana who championed the fight for Africa's liberation from British colonisation. He inspires to fight for the vulnerable and the oppressed.

What’s your best memory of being a student at UoM?

My best memory of being a student at UoM was meeting with Professor Stephanie Barrientos, a well-known name within the Cocoa Sector. She is a key contact I need as I am someone with vested interest in the Cocoa-Chocolate Value Chain.

What do you love most about Manchester?

The energy in the city and its people.

What’s your proudest moment?

I was able to withstand social media bullying and focus on protecting students’ interests throughout the year, especially during the COVID19 Pandemic.
