Activities and Development Officer

Why did you get involved with the SU?

I have always been inspired to lead and I felt being involved in the Students’ Union would be a great opportunity for me to represent the students and support them in obtaining a memorable and engaging student experience in Manchester.

If you could achieve one thing in your year as an Officer, what would it be?

My aim is to create platforms and activities that will bring all student groups together to share their culture and diversity in a bid to create a diverse, inclusive and engaging Manchester experience.

Who’s your icon?

Wangari Maathai, an acclaimed Kenyan social and environmental activist who was the first African woman to win the Nobel Peace Prize for her work in promoting peace, democracy and sustainable development. I loved her passion for the environment and her drive for championing for social justice.

What’s your best memory of being a student at UoM?

My best memory as a student was getting to build networks and friendships with people from different parts of the world.

What do you love most about Manchester?

I love the vibrance and the infrastructure of the city. They are great aspects for great photography!

What’s your proudest moment?

My proudest moment was being awarded the best female dancer in Kenya.
