Statement on recent student behaviour in halls of residence

Thursday 18-03-2021 - 11:14

We have been made aware of recent student behaviour in the University’s halls of residence, namely Tree Court.  The video and images we have seen have been unacceptable and we condemn the actions of those students.

The mistreatment and disregard of the halls of residence adds further distress amongst fellow students who share these spaces in what has already been a difficult year for all. These actions have also had a negative impact on the University staff whose role is to support students living in these halls of residences every day.

Whilst we continue to work with the University and RA/JCRs, we want to urge all students to be conscious of how their behaviour might affect others who live and work in these spaces.

Signed
